Deus Ex promotes OnLive, big problem with Gamestop

The much anticipated game Deus Ex: Human Revolution finally hit the shelves on friday 27. of august. Many had pre-ordered this game, not only to get the game first, but also to get first hand access to some pre-order deals. But it shouldn't be that easy, should it? No, because Eidos(Deus Ex's "publisher") had taken an offer from OnLive. Some of the blame may lie in the fact that one of OnLives directors, previously worked with Eidos. The deal was that OnLive could get commercials put in the cover of the PC version of the game.

Since Gamestop and OnLive both are competitors this was not acceptable. I even work at Gamestop, and I could spot all but one Deus Ex game for PC, because they have been sent back. Luckaly for Gamestop, Eidos apologized for the event and will ship new PC-versions without the commercials. Gamestop also apologize for the inconvenience.

What was your reaction when you heard they denied selling the game? Did they do the right thing by exchanging or was that unnecessary?
